For some reason, football season means garage cleaning time for many of our customers.  Criterium has numerous storage devices for the family bike fleet, from simple hooks in the wall to bike parking racks for five or six bikes.  New in 2010 is a hitch rack from Saris that has its own floor stand so it can keep working even when it is stored in the garage.

It’s also a good time to replace your old floor pump with one of the new smart head pumps that need no adapters to fill both types of valves.  If you have misplaced individual allen keys, just replace the whole set with our Mechanics Wrench Set from Specialized (Bondhus-style allen keys and torx wrenches) –$25.

For the work you don’t want to undertake yourself, plan now to bring your bikes in for our half-price overhaul special, starting October 1st.  Then you can finish cleaning up the garage and get back to other things, like a great bike ride.

Doug Kennell is looking for ways to get kids to ride to school at Wayne Bricker Elementary.  This week’s project was to install a parking rack.  Doug called to report these three bikes appeared on the first day.  The next day there were seven, and now they have repositioned the rack to hold even more.

This is a great start to getting our kids off the sofa, out of the SUV, and disconnected from texting.  Good job, Doug!
